Carnosine 500 mg 3 x 60 Capsules

A pioneer in athlete nutrition – carnosine.

Carnosine, which was discovered and isolated in Russia in 1900, proved its worth as a nutritional supplement for athletes around 1950, even if it only became known in Western countries as a building block of effective athletic nutrition at the beginning of the new millennium.

The natural substance in the body is one of the so-called dipeptides, chemical compounds that are composed of two amino acids - in this case ß-alanine and L-histidine - and can be split into two amino acids again by hydrolysis. In humans, there is an increased concentration of carnosine in both the brain and muscles.

Carnosine is most strongly found in meat in food. It is absorbed in the small intestine. In the muscles, carnosine protects against the consequences of overacidification by lactic acid during strenuous exercise. Carnosine also acts as a neurotransmitter in the body. When taking carnosine, a combination with zinc is often useful.

Consume 3 x 1 capsule daily with sufficient liquid before eating.
