Proline 500 mg 100 Capsules Vegan/Vegetarian
- Essential component of elastin and collagen
- For flexibility and stability in the collagenous connective tissue
For bones, cartilage and connective tissue – proline.
The amino acid proline is primarily needed for the formation of collagen, the protein made up of connective tissue, bones and cartilage. As a non-essential amino acid, proline can be produced by the body itself, but in certain situations the amount of proline that the human body produces from glutamic acid is not sufficient to fully meet the need.
The body also needs proline to produce what is known as hydroxyproline in combination with vitamin C. Hydroxyproline is an essential component of the structural proteins in elastin and collagen, which is irreplaceable for the flexibility and stability of the connective tissue. If too little proline is available to the body, this sometimes leads to increased wrinkling and weakens the bones, since it is involved in the build-up and regeneration of bones, cartilage and connective tissue. Therefore, the body needs a particularly large amount of proline during growth. With increasing age, the production of proline decreases and the body no longer produces this non-essential amino acid to a sufficient extent.
Consume 2 x 1 capsule daily with sufficient liquid before eating.
